Por lo que lei los almacenaron en 1991 y estan a la venta. Los sacaron de servicio por problemas económicos y la subsiguiente falta de fondos para operarlos
Su aviación de combate actual esta formada por 9 Alpha Jet y 9 Chengdu F-7NI

Twenty-two single-seat Lockheed F-104A and a pair of two-seat F-104B Starfighters are readied for delivery at the Lockheed Aircraft facility in Palmdale, California, in January 1958. In two of the aircraft on the left, the General Electric J79-GE-3A engine has been removed, while one of the 9,300 pound thrust engines is readied for installation in another. Curiously, the removable one-piece tail section for one of the F-104As (56-0818) appears to have been pulled (or is being installed) on the aircraft bearing a different buzz number (FG-793, i.e. 56-0793). A total of 153 F-104As and twenty-six F-104Bs were built for the US Air Force. The Starfighter was unofficially—but widely known—as the Zipper for its Mach 2 top speed. lockheedmartin/codeone

Esta me hace acordar otros país que dio de baja a sus Jaguar Ecuador, lo peor s que dio de baja a sus Jaguar/ F-1 y en lugar de modernízalos fue y compro cheetah, so esas cosas que yo no entiendo.
Pero tiene lógica lo del F-1 hasta Sudáfrica hizo lo mismo, modernizo los cheta antes que los F-1.

me molesta la aleta que tiene abajo
en su momento era la única forma de obtener mejor estabilidad para los sistemas de armamento
mira los chinos te quieren tanto que le pusieron a este tu nombre y aletita por abajo por que saben que te gusta
y dos en la primera versión solo para vos 1
Entiendo que además del alto costo de operación y mantenimiento, que fue el motivo por el cual Ecuador los dió de baja. En el caso de Nigeria se sumó un embargo, por eso el segundo lote nunca llegó, más la lógica imposibilidad de conseguír repuestos...
De hecho , Nigeria también había adquirido tres Sea Lynx para su Armada, los cuales también fueron embargados.
