Fairchild, McConnell tankers fuel NORAD exercise

A 22nd Air Refueling Wing KC-135 Stratotanker from McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., is prepped for an exercise Amalgam Dart 15-2 aerial refueling mission May 29, 2015, at Eielson AFB, Alaska. During Amalgam Dart, U.S. Air Force KC-135s, alongside Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130T Hercules and CC-150T Polaris tanker crews, had numerous opportunities to practice bilateral aerial refueling with aircraft ranging from U.S. Air Force F-15 Eagles and RCAF CF-18 Hornets, to U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptors, an E-3 Sentry (AWACS) and a B-52H Stratofortress. FOTOS: El Último Vuelo del Prowler

El último avión de guerra electrónica Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler de la Armada de Estados Unidos llevo a cabo su vuelo final desde la Estación Aérea Naval de Whidbey Island en Washington el 27 de junio, concluyendo 44 años de servicio con la fuerza.

El avión con base en portaaviones participó en un despegue ceremonial final desde su base anterior, abriendo el camino para el Boeing EA-18G Growler como su reemplazo en las tareas de guerra electrónica .

On June 30, 1982, thirty-three years ago today, the last active duty photographic squadron, VFP-63, was disestablished, leaving VFP-26 and VFP-306 of the Naval Air Reserve as the last photographic squadrons and operators of the RF-8 Crusader.

Diseñado como bombardero fue derrotado por el P2V para su producción en masa, a pesar de eso se pidieron 19 P4M-1Q para tareas SIGINT que opero en dos escuadrones VQ-1 en el pacifico y VQ-2 en el atlántico, era normal que usara armamento defensivo ya que operaba cerca de las costas de china y Rusia, estuvo operativo bien entrado los años 60, propulsado por dos Pratt Whitney R-4360 de 2975 hp y dos Alison J-33 de 2087 Kg de empuje, su armamento defensivo comprendía en cuatro cañones de 20 mm y cuatros ametralladoras de 12,7 mm.

 
El O-1 siempre me molestó, pero para bien, de alguna forma retorcida me llama la atención con esos cohetes para marcar.
