USS #NIMITZ CVN68, the US #Navy's oldest aircraft carrier, went into drydock at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in March and was refloated on 5 Dec. These shots show her on 5 March. Even nearly empty she displaces over 80,000 tons. 1,115 feet long and 257 feet wide. 1/3

Among the work done on USS #NIMITZ CVN68 while in drydock was to refurbish the ship's four propellers. These views from 16 October show the props being reinstalled on the ship's propeller shafts. 2/3

#NIMITZ was refloated on 5 Dec after 9 months in the #Puget Sound Naval Shipyard drydock. She'll return to service in 2019, probably won't deploy again until 2020. It truly is an awesome thing to walk beneath an aircraft carrier... 3/3

El helicóptero de entrenamiento Leonardo TH-119 IFR completó su primer vuelo de prueba en la planta de la compañía en Filadelfia el 20 de diciembre.

El TH-119, basado en el helicóptero utilitario AW119 de un solo motor, es la oferta de Leonardo para reemplazar la flota de helicópteros de entrenamiento TH-57 Sea Ranger de la Marina de los EE. UU.
