2024 was fantastic. The new and intimidating KDX-III Batch-II (DDG-II) Aegis destroyer and the state-of-the-art medium-sized FFX Batch-III (FFG-III) frigate have been delivered to the Navy. In addition, plans to build FFX Batch-IV frigates have been started.. Hyundai and Hanwha Ocean are proposing FFG-II based frigates to the navies of Peru, the Philippines, and the rest of the world. If they have a budget allocation to navy as large as Australia's, the FFG-III (or Ocean 4300) would be perfect.
FFG-III has a very large and powerful digital radar for her class, providing unparalleled protection. The radar mast was installed quite high, and future technologies were applied to the radar array and semiconductors of the radar front end. It also has excellent anti-submarine capabilities, using the CODLOG propulsion system and the sensitive TASS. Not to mention that she will have a new EW device and the CIWS-II.
