The MiG-21 SMT was a kind of upgraded version of the SM with increased fuel capacity.
This MiG was very unpopular with pilots it can go farther but slower and lower than other MiG-21.
This variant is différentiable thanks to its larger spine,
S = Sapfir (referring to the Sapfir-21/RP-22 radar),
M = Modernizirovannyy ("Modernised"),
T = Toplivo ("Fuel," referring to increased fuel capacity)

El MiG-21 SMT era una versión mejorada del SM con mayor capacidad de combustible.
Este MiG fue muy impopular entre los pilotos, ya que podía volar más lejos, pero a menor velocidad y a menor altura que otros MiG-21.
Esta variante se diferencia por su mayor tamaño de la columna vertebral.
