The corvette ARA Espora of the Argentine Navy, under the command of Frigate Captain José Luis Cides, set sail from the docks of the Puerto Belgrano Naval Base (BNPB) with the aim of conducting unit-level training and preparing for future scheduled voyages.

During the journey, the crew underwent various exercises, ranging from firefighting to damage control, combat roles, man overboard drills, management of secondary stations, and weapon movements. In a joint exercise with a Fennec aircraft from the First Naval Helicopter Squadron, aircraft launch and recovery practices were conducted.

Chief Petty Officer Martín González, in charge of the unit, praised the crew, highlighting that “esprit de corps was reflected in every activity performed”.

Subsequently, after performing anchoring maneuvers near the town of Monte Hermoso, practices with smaller boats were carried out, as well as training in Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) operations.

Upon returning to the BNPB, Frigate Captain Cides highlighted the positive outcome of the training, stating: “It was an extremely beneficial training that strengthened the formation of the personnel recently incorporated into the corvette. The crew showed great motivation. Every time we set sail, the strong spirit on board and camaraderie are evident.”
