The Hawker Typhoon was an amazing aircraft, with excellent performance and a dazzling record of achievement. 3,317 were built, with three variations, eventually taking the Typhoon design to the limit of what a piston-engined fighter could achieve

The Bachem Ba 349 Natter (English: Colubrid, grass-snake) was a World War II German point-defence rocket-powered interceptor, which was to be used in a very similar way to a manned surface-to-air missile.

Two of twelve U.S. A-20 Havoc light bombers on a mission against Kokas, Indonesia in July of 1943. The lower bomber was hit by anti-aircraft fire after dropping its bombs, and plunged into the sea, killing both crew members.
