Situational Awareness System
OIP Sensor Systems provides real-time day & thermal
situational awareness systems to be integrated in armoured fighting vehicles and main battle tanks.
Description
Such systems provide the crew inside the vehicle with a panoramic view of the battlefield, under closed hatches, without compromising safety.
The
SENTINEL cameras come with different fields of view, enabling us to offer customized integration. This gives us additional flexibility to tailor our solution to the platform needs and dead zone requirements.
All the system elements are on an Ethernet network, which allows each user to select its preferred streams independently. IT also enables easier integration with other platform functions.

Solutions
SENTINEL 360° Vision System
We provide expert technical support to optimise trade-offs during placement and integration on the platform. Additionally, the intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) can be customised to suit specific user preferences and it is compatible with a variety of smart displays.

SENTINEL Driving Aid System
Careful selection and optimal placement of the driver’s camera and display are even more critical for a driving aid system. Equally important is the inclusion of built-in safety mechanisms.
It is possible to integrate the vehicle’s information and our 360° vision system to enhance the driver’s awareness and to consolidate all relevant information into a single graphical interface. One practical example is the overlay of driver guidelines to indicate the width of the vehicle, its path and the position of the wheels or tracks.

SENTINEL Edge Computing System
Our Edge Computing Cameras cater to the most demanding situational awareness applications.
They feature higher resoultuion and framerate capabilities and can locally run potent AI and other video processing algorithms (e.g. lens distortion correction and video fusion). This allows the implementation of more advanced situational awareness features such as object recognition, stereoscopic vision and autonomous driving without the need for a central computor.
In addition to the Ethernet conncection, there are two coaxial video outputs to enable enhanced reality applications where the latency demands are extreme.
