Military cooperation between the Armed Forces of Brazil and the United States continues to deepen. One of the latest milestones in the relationship is the deployment of an Embraer KC-390 to the U.S. to participate in the Storm Flag Operational Exercise, which took place in the city of Alexandria, Louisiana.

In broad terms, the Storm Flag Exercise aimed to strengthen cooperation and interoperability between the United States and Brazil Air Forces through the improvement of Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) involving transport aircraft.

With these clear objectives in mind, the Brazilian Air Force deployed one of its Embraer KC-390 transport planes to Louisiana, belonging to the First Troop Transport Group (1st GTT) – Zeus Squadron. Additionally, other personnel took part in the activities, including members of the Gordo Squadron and the Aeromedical Rescue Squadron (EAS), designated as PARA-SAR.

“Storm Flag provided the opportunity to enhance the operational capabilities of the KC-390 Millennium and showcase the aircraft on the world stage. Experience in joint exercises is crucial to fully realize the operational potential of the aircraft and evolve doctrine for its safe use,” said Lieutenant Colonel Aviator Bruno Américo Pereira, Commander of Zeus Squadron and participant in the Exercise.
