As previously reported on the occasion of the arrival of the T-95 “Vuelo del Pampero”, the Argentine Air Force is preparing to receive the second Embraer ERJ-140LR aircraft. The presentation and incorporation ceremony of the new transport aircraft will take place tomorrow, February 19, at the Military Aero Station Aeroparque, Buenos Aires city.

The aircraft arriving tomorrow is one of the two Embraer ERJ-140LRs acquired by the Argentine Air Force through a bidding process, which was awarded to the US company Regional One Inc. for a total of USD 6,856,200.

Designated as T-96 “Paloma Gaucha,” it is the aircraft MSN 145747 manufactured 20 years ago, where it was used by American Eagle and American Airlines. On its ferry flight from the United States, it would make the same stops as the T-95, visiting Mexico, Ecuador, and Peru on its route.

Like the T-95, the T-96 will soon join the structure of the Air Squadron II, of the 1st Air Transport Group, in the 1st Air Brigade El Palomar, in order to strengthen the transport capabilities of the Argentine Air Force.
