The Victors Write the History Books'

Upon grieving from the effects of war, this innocent, upset Ukrainian girl was confronted by 2 Wehrmacht soldiers in an attempt to comfort her during the midst of Operation Barbarossa in 1941. Since most of history is written by the victors, I am going to say that the Wehrmacht wasn't as evil as you would make them out to be.

Shortly before this photograph was shot, the Ukrainian girl's entire family was killed in a German bomb raid. She was found hiding in a basement as instructed by her parents, until found by the two Wehrmacht soldiers you see in this photograph.
