#OTD in 1959, during flight operations on board the carrier Independence (CVA 62) Lieutenant Ed Decker launched in an A3D Skywarrior with a gross weight of 84,000 pounds, the heaviest aircraft to fly from a carrier up until that time. It's no wonder one of the A3D's nicknames was "The Whale." Here are two shots of A3Ds operating on board Indy that year.

#OTD in 1956 the Navy placed its initial order for prototypes of what would become the A3J (later redesignated A-5) Vigilante. Initially developed as a heavy attack platform, the airplane was eventually converted to a photographic reconnaissance platform and designated the RA-5C. Here are a selection of images from its days at the tip of the carrier aviation's atomic spear.

Es el H-6K, ultimo desarrollo chino del Tupolev Tu-16 Badger. Tiene los turbofan del IL-76, cabina con pantallas multifuncion, armamento inteligente, capacidad de lanzar misiles de crucero nucleares, nuevo radar y avionica, etc
