Es interesante resaltar que, en agosto del 2004, después de algunas experiencias anteriores en el paso Drake; la Armada de E.E.U.U., planificó el tránsito por el Estrecho de Magallanes del moderno Portaaviones "Ronald Reagan". Esta unidad naval mayor navegó la ruta, piloteada por Prácticos chilenos, con total seguridad y sin ninguna dificultad. Este Portaaviones tiene una eslora de 345 metros y una manga de 70 metros

Este vídeo del suboficial de catapulta de un CV useño la encuentro muy buena, porque muestra desde su perspectiva los lanzamientos. Para mi en un porta si no eres piloto, este trabajo en la cubierta es el mejor de todos.
