Today, media and personnel from the Army Aviation Command and Air Assault units of the Argentine Army carried out an exercise as part of the annual training near the Campo de Mayo airfield. During the afternoon activity, the Army Aviation Group 601, the Combat Intelligence Detachment 601, the Air Assault Regiment 601, and the Satellite Communications Battalion 601 participated.

In this context, the maneuvers began with reconnaissance and exploration of the objectives by the Army Aviation Group 601’s reconnaissance helicopters and a Lipan MIII unmanned aerial vehicle from the Combat Intelligence Detachment 601. Once high-value targets were identified, a helicopter performed simulated attack passes to soften the landing zone.

Subsequently, personnel from the Air Assault Regiment 601 made their first landing in the landing zone with assault helicopters from the Army Aviation, using Fast Rope and Rappel techniques. Then a second wave landed more troops near the Campo de Mayo airfield. Finally, to conclude the exercise, helicopters from the Assault unit performed external load flights to ensure the logistical chain of the Regiment.

It is worth noting that all these activities, involving various means and personnel were broadcast live to the Commander’s command post, which received images from four different sources: AB206 helicopters, the Lipan MIII unmanned aerial vehicle, an exploration drone, and a chest camera worn by a foot soldier.

From the Zona Militar team, we extend our gratitude to the Argentine Army and especially to the Army Aviation for the invitation to witness the activities they carry out daily as part of their training.
