Just a few days away from receiving its first ERJ-140LR TC-95, the Argentine Air Force is preparing to welcome a new aircraft to strengthen its liaison and transport capabilities. Specifically, it is the sixth Beechcraft TC-12B Huron acquired from the United States as part of a procurement process for twelve units (plus two more for the Argentine Navy, totaling fourteen).

Although further details have not been provided, the aircraft in question, registered as TC-111 (still sporting the white and orange colors from its former service in the US Navy) is currently undertaking its ferry flight to Argentina. For the Argentine Air Force, this will be the sixth TC-12B Huron to be incorporated into the institution’s liaison and transport aircraft fleet; the seventh if we include the unit (registration I-G-49) of the Naval Air Surveillance Squadron, received in July 2023.

As with the previous five units, the future TC-111 will likely undergo painting work in the characteristic gray tone adopted by the Argentine Air Force at the Río Cuarto Material Area (AMACUAR) in the province of Córdoba, complemented by other interior work on the aircraft.

To date, the previous Huron has been assigned to the II Air Brigade of Paraná to be used in the training of transport pilots; while the TC-114 has been assigned to BAM Morón, Buenos Aires province, and the TC-112 to the V Air Brigade in Villa Reynolds, San Luis province. As for the TC-111, it has not been confirmed which unit of the Air Force it will be assigned to after completing its painting work at AMACUAR.
