The plane was a F14D SuperTomcat, and the accident wasn't because the supersonic speed. It was a bird, like most of the cases.... And the pilot and RIO was ejected and survived. (In the full movie, they gave interview RIGHT AFTER the medical control). The blast wasn't the blast of the whole plane, just one of the engines exploded.Comentario aparte, no necesariamente el tomcat iba en supersonico.Sin poner AB el tomcat llegaba a transonico con las alas en esa posicion</blockquote>
