Mensaje: <blockquote data-quote="Nocturno Culto" data-source="post: 3212236" data-attributes="member: 6896">On October 31, 1941 USS Reuben James (DD-245) was sunk by German U-boat, U-552 while escorting Convoy HX 156 near Iceland. She was the first US naval ship sunk during WWII. Out of a crew of 144 officers and enlisted personal, only 44 of them survived.
