In what represents an important milestone for the modernization and strengthening of its capabilities, the Argentine Army has officially confirmed the arrival of the first batch of 8×8 Stryker Wheeled Armored Combat Vehicles to the country. The armored vehicles arrived by sea at the port of the city of Zárate, coming from the United States.

The news is of great significance for the Army, as it marks the beginning of a process that is expected to expand in the future, while progress continues in training the first groups of drivers, crews, and specialized personnel for the operation of the platform.

This is evidenced by the completion in the U.S. of the first intensive course carried out by Argentine personnel who had their first experience with the Stryker, conducted at a military base located in the state of Washington. This initial group consisted of one officer and four non-commissioned officer drivers, who received training delivered by personnel from General Dynamics Land Systems focused on familiarization with the armored platform in areas such as safety, driving, and preventive maintenance.

Among these aspects, attention must also be drawn to those focused on the subsystems that make up the 8×8 Stryker, such as the remote weapon stations with which the vehicles are equipped and the necessary Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS).

Thus, once the courses were successfully completed by the Argentine personnel, they returned to the country while the first batch of vehicles was being prepared for their shipment by sea to Argentina. This occurred a few days ago, officially confirming their arrival at the port of the city of Zárate.

As can be seen in the images shared by the Argentine Army through its social media, the first four 8×8 Stryker VCBRs in their M1126 armored personnel carrier variant can be observed, featuring among their characteristics M151 Protector remote weapon stations manufactured by the Norwegian company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.

Finally, the official presentation is expected to take place in the coming days, on a date yet to be confirmed, with the attendance of the highest authorities of the Argentine Army and the Ministry of Defense of the Argentine Republic.
