Amid the bilateral activities scheduled between Argentina and the United States, the Naval Special Operations Forces of both countries carried out Exercise TRIDENTE, a combined training that brought together the Tactical Divers Group of the Argentine Navy and the GOLF Platoon of the U.S. Navy SEALs. The training focuses on maritime interdiction operations, aimed at strengthening the response capacity against threats in the maritime spaces under Argentine jurisdiction.
After 24 years, the Tactical Divers once again trained together with one of the most prestigious forces in the world, resuming a cooperation that strengthens national defense and increases the operational effectiveness of the patrols in charge of surveillance and control in the South Atlantic. These joint maneuvers represent a milestone in the bilateral relationship in defense matters, by promoting the transfer of knowledge, tactics, and procedures applied in high-complexity naval operations.

According to the images released by official media, part of the activities took place on the deck of the offshore patrol vessel ARA Storni (P-53), moored at the Mar del Plata Naval Base, where boarding practices, vessel control, and tactical procedures were carried out in simulated interdiction scenarios. The training also included exercises in coastal and maritime environments, with the participation of surface units and logistical support assets from both navies.
The execution of Exercise TRIDENTE was authorized through Decree 697/2025, which contemplates its development between October 20 and November 15 at the Naval Bases of Mar del Plata, Ushuaia, and Puerto Belgrano. In the considerations of said regulation, it is emphasized that cooperation with the United States makes it possible to strengthen national capabilities, optimize resources, consolidate international alliances, and improve interoperability between forces, promoting doctrinal integration and the standardization of operational procedures.

The Argentine participation in TRIDENTE reaffirms the country’s commitment to regional stability and international security, while projecting an image of professionalism and cooperation in the multinational sphere. This exercise constitutes a relevant step toward the consolidation of the Argentine Navy as a modern, interoperable force fully capable of carrying out combined operations in defense of national maritime interests.
