At AUSA 2025, Elbit America unveiled the Block 4 version of its SkyStriker unmanned system, a loitering munition that incorporates substantial improvements in range, payload, endurance, and remote-control capabilities. The new version, derived from Elbit Systems’ original Israeli design, reinforces the global trend toward the use of tactical autonomous aerial platforms with extended precision-strike capability.
According to information provided by the company, the SkyStriker Block 4 Enhanced introduces an optimized architecture with greater operational range —exceeding 100 kilometers— and up to two hours of flight endurance, enabling sustained surveillance, target acquisition, and precision-strike operations in complex environments.

The system is designed to carry modular payloads between 5 and 10 kilograms, with options for fragmentation, high-explosive, or penetrator warheads. One of its main innovations is the ability to abort missions and return to the launch point in flight, a feature intended to increase tactical flexibility and reduce the risk of collateral damage.
The Block 4 configuration also includes a new stabilized electro-optical and infrared guidance suite, with AI-based automatic target recognition algorithms. This provides greater accuracy during flight and in the terminal phase of attack, even in low-visibility or electronic-interference conditions. Launch and recovery are conducted from a portable ground platform, without requiring a runway.

Additionally, the SkyStriker can be operated from remote stations or integrated into C4ISR networks, allowing coordinated use with artillery systems or mechanized units. Elbit America emphasized that the SkyStriker Block 4 was developed to meet the needs of the U.S. Army and NATO allies seeking an autonomous, precise, and low-operational-cost strike capability. Its modularity also allows adaptation to different configurations and scenarios, from urban operations to interdiction missions and support for indirect fires.
