In compliance with state orders, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) is expected to complete the delivery of a total of eight or more Sukhoi Su-34 fighter-bombers during 2025 to equip the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS). This follows estimates made after the most recent delivery carried out on September 15.
More than three years after the start of the invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Federation’s military-industrial complex has been making significant efforts to replace the operational losses suffered by the country’s Armed Forces. In the aerospace field, deliveries of combat aircraft stand out—particularly the Su-35S air superiority fighters, among the most modern currently produced, as well as the Su-34 fighter-bombers.

In the latter case, its importance is no less, since the Su-34—codenamed Fullback by NATO—remains the main and most modern tactical attack and bomber platform employed by the VKS in the conflict. This situation places upon the aircraft, as well as its pilots and crews, the need for proper logistical support to ensure acceptable levels of combat readiness.
One of its pilots highlighted this during the recent handover, stating: “…This aircraft carries out multifunctional missions at any time, day or night, under any weather conditions, and with the use of various types of weaponry. The crew feels confident and safe in it.”
In this regard, efforts are being focused on the production and delivery of new units. As noted, with the latest batch of aircraft delivered on September 15—marking the fourth so far this year—UAC is estimated to have delivered a total of eight units.
This figure, which may vary, is based on the numbers observed in previous batches delivered in April, July, and more recently in August, when up to two aircraft per batch were recorded. Although the estimate comes from images released by UAC itself, these always conceal registration numbers and serials to avoid disclosing data about the aircraft or the Aerospace Forces units to which they are being supplied.

Finally, in the words of Vadim Badekha, UAC’s General Director: “UAC enterprises consistently maintain a high pace of military equipment production, fulfilling commitments to the Russian Aerospace Forces on schedule. This month has been a record in terms of the number of aircraft delivered. Our factory employees, understanding the importance of supplying air assets to the troops, not only ensure the necessary production volume, but also constantly improve production processes to secure greater output of aircraft, both for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense and for fulfilling other production programs.”
