The United States government has authorized the potential sale of new M2A2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), along with logistics support packages, to equip the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the Department of State in one of its latest notifications to Congress, as part of the approval process for the $150 million deal.

Throughout the conflict with Russia, the Ukrainian Ground Forces have received substantial shipments of U.S.-origin equipment. Among the most notable has been the delivery of up to 300 M2A2 Bradley IFVs, which have been deployed in various operations and praised by crews for their mobility, protection, and firepower.
However, as indicated by various Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) reports, Ukraine’s Bradley fleet has suffered attrition due to the high-intensity conflict with Russia, incurring significant losses.

While figures may vary, it is estimated that out of the 300 vehicles, a total of 177 IFVs have been destroyed, damaged, captured, recovered, repaired, and returned to service—highlighting the high wear-and-tear rate experienced in the field.
Given this context, and according to a statement from the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the Ukrainian government has requested to purchase additional Bradley vehicles from the United States, along with a logistics support package.
Valued at $150 million, with BAE Systems—the current manufacturer of the Bradley—as the primary contractor, the operation includes an undisclosed number of vehicles, as well as “…equipment and services for the refurbishment of Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, technical assistance, training, publications, and other related elements of logistics and program support.”

Finally, the Department of State stated: “The proposed sale will improve Ukraine’s ability to meet current and future threats by further equipping it to conduct self-defense and regional security missions. Ukraine has an urgent need to strengthen local sustainment capabilities to maintain high operational rates for United States provided vehicles and weapon systems. Improved maintenance, repair, and overhaul capability will directly contribute to battlefield effectiveness through a more resilient and rapid repair cycle that will increase overall operational rates with reduced logistics and financial burdens. Ukraine will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces”.
