In recent weeks, Argentina’s Joint Patrol Fuerzas Comando has finalized its training ahead of its trip to El Salvador. Just days away from the start of a new edition of Fuerzas Comando, the Argentine team continues refining its capabilities to face the challenges of the multinational military competition organized and promoted by the U.S. Southern Command’s Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH).

As previously reported by Zona Militar in recent months, the Joint Patrol—comprising personnel from the Argentine Army, Air Force, and Navy—went through various stages before reaching the current team composition. This process included preselection and selection phases, as well as all the work aimed at refining the physical, psychological, and technical capabilities and performance of each of its members.

At this final stage before the competition, it is worth highlighting the constant work of the Chief, NCOIC, Physical Trainer, Instructors, and all military personnel who supported the Joint Patrol. Several contributions also played a role in this effort, such as the Federal Police’s FOE, which made its facilities in Plátanos available for the last days of training. It is also fair to acknowledge the support provided by various civilians, who offered different solutions to complement the overall effort.

In recent weeks, the Joint Patrol has continued training on multiple fronts to consolidate the work done, including physical preparation, marksmanship, and team spirit, among others. These activities were conducted in Córdoba, with direct support from various FOE elements and the IV Airborne Brigade, as well as the Argentine Air Force. The latter provided a Bell 412 helicopter for the shooting drills of both the sniper teams and the assault teams.

Once activities moved to the Federal Police FOE facilities, the Joint Patrol Fuerzas Comando received not only the support of this federal security force but also that of the Army Aviation. This week, an AB-206B1 from the 602nd Reconnaissance and Attack Aviation Squadron operated with the Argentine team during aerial shooting exercises.

On the ground, the activities have been equally intense, ranging from physical training to rifle and pistol shooting under various conditions. For the latter, the team has been using multiple available ranges as well as the FOE’s shoot house.

With just days to go before Fuerzas Comando 2025, the Argentine Armed Forces’ Joint Patrol awaits the competition with great expectations, ready to put to use the work carried out in recent months, always aiming for the best possible results.

From Zona Militar, we once again thank the Joint Command Forces Patrol team, as well as all those who provided assistance in this process, which will conclude in El Salvador.
